Jamaica offers an abundance of food, alcohol, relaxation, night life, water sports and casino gambling. We offer an abundance of rice and beans, potable water, mountain climbing, horseback riding (or mule), night life of swatting mosquitoes, water sports mainly involving sewage puddle jumping and gambling better known as driving while navigating crater sized potholes and praying for working brakes on the mountain roads. You could choose Jamaica and come home with a few extra pounds and a nice colour. Or, you could choose Haiti and come home with a few less pounds and an understanding of colour. You could come home emptied and indulged or filled and fulfilled. You could come home carefree and back to normal or informed and transformed. Our all inclusive fee of $2100 provides all airfare, food, lodging, transportation, seminars, site seeing excursions, cultural events and a one day trip to the beach. Our intent is to provide first hand, cultural experiences and lively discussion groups that will enlighten our participants in unparalleled ways on how to become a more effective global citizen in our approach to humanitarian aid and Christian charity. It is the philosophy of P.W.P. to "Listen, Learn and Link" with the Haitian people. It is our opinion that one must come to Haiti in the position of humility, as a receiver before one can become an effective giver. We believe by "listening" to them we will learn what Haiti really needs, by "learning" from experiences and seminars conducted by Haitians in their own environment, we will come to understand their needs more completely and, by "linking" with them in equal partnerships via P.W.P. we will meet their needs with compassion, not pity and effect long-term changes.
